If you plan on using a crate as part of your puppy’s training routine, introduce the apparatus and its’ functions very gradually. When your dog appears to be at ease while inside the crate with the door ajar, you can help him adjust to the crate even further by slowly latching the door and rewarding him with treats fed to him through the spaces between the wires. Gradually increase the amount of time your dog spends in the crate, starting with just a few seconds. If they become upset, you are moving too fast.
A number of repetitions will be necessary before your dog will be able to master a new command. It may take as many as fifty repetitions before your dog learns the command. Being patient while trying the same task or command will allow your dog to understand it.
When you approach a strange dog, make sure you approach him slowly and allow the dog to sniff your hand. This lets the dog get accustomed to your smell and he will be more trusting towards you. After the dog becomes familiar with your smell, he’ll start to trust you and listen to you.
Practice patience when you are training your dog. This will reduce anger, stress and tension when you train your dog. Understand that your dog actually wants to please you, however he/she can be confused with what it is you want them to do.
Your dog may not learn a command right away. You might have to repeat the same exercise up to fifty times before your dog remembers it. Be patient and continue using a command until your dog learns it.
Since you have learned these new facts, you will now able to enjoy having a calmer more obedient dog that will surely provide better benefits that you and your whole family can enjoy. You will notice a difference in your dog’s behavior as soon as you begin using these strategies.
